Like many first-year teachers, I struggled to find resources for my class. The textbook at times was just too much information and at other times lacked the information necessary for my students to be successful. I searched every Teacher Supply Store I could find for resources. Once again, I struggled to find what I needed for my students. Almost every single Social Studies resource I found was for the elementary level. The secondary students seemed to have been left behind by the major publishing companies. It was not long before I was making my own lessons. With each new lesson I created, my students were increasingly successful. I knew that I had to share what I had learned with other teachers who I know were in the same position as I had previously been.
During my 4th year of teaching, I took the leap and began my Teachers Pay Teachers store for High School Social Studies products. In my 6th year of teaching, I began the largest project I have to date, my U.S. History Post Reconstruction Graphic Study Guide. I was fed up with my students not having a textbook that was quick and easy to read while at the same time addressing the needs of my special education and ELL/ESL students. It took 13 months to research, write, and organize commissioned artwork to complete this valuable resources. The graphic study guide is one of my proudest achievements in terms of resources and is available on both Teachers Pay Teachers and Amazon.com.
My lessons are unique, engaging, and effective. I target High School Social Studies but some of my products can also be used at other levels. All of my products rate 4+ stars, many being 5-star products. Thousands of teachers have purchased resources from Lawshe Education and use them in their classrooms all across the United States and in some cases abroad. You can be assured that the products you receive are high quality and high standard. My resources are classroom-tested and are practical for the real classroom. I am always adding new products to my store and I look forward to continuing to serve the Social Studies community. Check back frequently for new resources.
I’m currently in my 10th year of teaching for a public high school. I am a certified teacher in Texas. My current certifications include TExES Social Studies Composite 8-12, AP College Board U.S. History, AP College Board European History, and Gifted and Talented. I have either previously or I’m currently teaching World Geography, World History, Economics, Government, United States History, AP US History, Dual US History, and AP European History. I have taught regular Academic or On-Level classes, PAP or K-Level classes, AP classes, Dual classes, ESL classes, and Special Education classes.
